What Must We Do?
Knowing what to watch for is important, but knowing how to respond is even more important. God has not called us to live in fear of the times we live in. Instead he called us to remain watchful, prayerful, and spiritually prepared in every season.
Repent and Return
Spiritual drift often begins when we slowly move away from God. Repentance is more than feeling sorry for sin; it is choosing to turn back to God and align our lives with His Word. Sometimes, this means returning to the basics, prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and obedience.
Stand Firm in Faith
Challenges and uncertainties are a part of life, but believers are called to stand firm in faith. Rather than being controlled by fear or circumstances, we must trust God’s promises and remain confident in His faithfulness.
Continue in Prayer and Thanksgiving
Prayer is more than presenting requests to God; it is building a relationship with Him. Just as healthy relationships require communication, our walk with God grows stronger when we spend time talking with Him consistently.
Thanksgiving is also an important part of prayer. When we take time to remember God’s faithfulness, our faith is strengthened. A grateful heart sees God’s goodness even in difficult seasons and remains confident in His promises.
Lean on the Holy Spirit
God never intended for us to navigate life alone. He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide, teach, strengthen, and comfort us. The Holy Spirit helps us guard our minds, discern what is true, and remain focused on God. As we rely on Him daily, we become more sensitive to His leading and better equipped to walk in His will.
Watch Your Words
“Our words carry power”. The Bible reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. What we speak can either build faith or spread fear, encourage hope or deepen discouragement.
As believers, we must be intentional about aligning our words with God’s truth.” Instead of speaking defeat, we should speak faith”. “Instead of focusing on limitations, we should declare God’s promises”.
Before speaking, ask yourself: Does this reflect what God says? A watchful believer guards both the heart and the mouth, using words that bring life, hope, and encouragement.
