In the Midst of the Storm: We Stand with Central Texas in Prayer and Hope

THE WORD OF GOD IS YOUR EVIDENT

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

As the people of Central Texas face one of the most devastating flood disasters in recent history, our hearts are heavy with grief—and yet full of faith. At Evident Faith Church, we are deeply moved by the tragedy that has unfolded, especially at Camp Mystic, where families are still searching for loved ones. Our prayers and support go out to every person affected by the floods, and we remain steadfast in believing God for healing, hope, and restoration.

As of this week, the death toll has risen to 82, and 10 girls and a camp counselor remain missing. The floods have destroyed homes, swept away memories, and created unbearable loss for families across Kerr, Travis, Burnet, Kendall, Tom Green, and Williamson counties.

Governor Greg Abbott has proclaimed July 5 as a Day of Prayer across the state, and we at Evident Faith join in unity with churches, organizations, and families across Texas to seek God’s face in this trying time.

Our Prayer Points for Central Texas:
  • Protection for the Missing

We are praying that every missing girl and person will be found safe and sound. Lord, shield them and guide the rescuers swiftly to them.

  • Comfort for Grieving Families

May God comfort the hearts of those who are mourning. We pray for healing, support, and supernatural peace.

  • Strength and Clarity for First Responders

We ask for physical strength, divine direction, and mental clarity for the firefighters, police, medics, and volunteers risking their lives daily.

  • Peace Over the Region

We declare peace over every flood-affected area. Let fear and anxiety be replaced with calm, assurance, and trust in God.

  • Healing for the Land

Lord, heal the physical land from this destruction and bring emotional and spiritual restoration to everyone impacted.

  • Provision for the Displaced

We pray that every need is met—from shelter, food, and clothing to emotional and spiritual care. May communities and churches rise up in generosity and love.

  • Hope in the Midst of Tragedy

We declare that hope will rise. That testimonies of survival, miracles, and unity will emerge, and hearts will be turned to God in this season.
