NEW LIFE IN CHRIST

THE WORD OF GOD IS YOUR EVIDENT

What if your yesterday no longer defined your tomorrow?
Have you ever wished for a fresh start—one where the weight of past mistakes, regrets, or guilt no longer held you down? Imagine waking up, not just to a new day, but to a new life. That’s exactly what Jesus offers—a life not patched up or reformed, but made completely new.

Why this matters now, more than ever
We live in a world where people are constantly trying to reinvent themselves—new habits, new careers, new relationships. Yet, many still feel empty inside. That’s because true change isn’t external; it begins in the heart.

The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV):
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

This isn’t just poetic language—it’s God’s promise. When we give our lives to Christ, He doesn’t simply forgive us; He transforms us. Our desires shift. Our hearts soften. Our minds are renewed. And yes, our past is redeemed.

At Evident Faith Church, we’ve seen this transformation time and time again.

What a new life in Christ looks like

Take Tolu, for example—a young man in our community who once battled anger, depression, and a sense of purposelessness. After attending a midweek Bible study, he gave his life to Christ. At first, he wasn’t sure anything had changed. But over the next few weeks, something undeniable happened. He began to pray daily. He apologized to people he had hurt. He volunteered at church. His friends noticed. His family noticed. He noticed.

Tolu said: “I didn’t just turn over a new leaf. I found a whole new tree. I’m not who I was. I have peace. I have joy. I have Jesus.”

A new life in Christ doesn’t mean life becomes perfect—it means we walk in grace, filled with purpose, guided by truth, and surrounded by a spiritual family that lifts us up.

When you embrace the new life Jesus offers:

Guilt gives way to forgiveness.

Confusion gives way to clarity.

Emptiness gives way to fulfillment.

How to start walking in your new life

Here are 4 steps to live in the reality of your new life in Christ:

Start with Surrender
Every day, invite Jesus to lead you. Say, “Lord, not my will, but Yours.” (Luke 22:42)

Read the Word
Let the Bible renew your thinking. Begin with Romans, John, or Ephesians. God speaks through His Word. (Romans 12:2)

Join a Faith Community
Don’t walk alone. Come to our Sunday service, midweek Bible study, or prayer gatherings. Transformation grows best in fellowship. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Serve Others
New life flourishes when we give ourselves to others. Ask God where you can serve—your church, neighborhood, or family. (Galatians 5:13)

Pray Boldly
Develop a habit of prayer. Speak to God like a Father who listens—and He does. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
