John 13:34-35 (KJV) 34 A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Love in this context in Greek is translated agapao (Agape). It’s a verb. Love in action. Paul was referring to the same AGAPE in 1 Corinthians 13.
Four Categories of Love
“Christianity is the world’s great love religion. The Christian God comes to us as love, in love and for love. The Christian God woos us with love and works our transformation through love. In spite of the trivializing influence of romantic and sentimental views of love in Western culture, love is the strongest force in the universe, Gravity may hold planets in orbit and nuclear force may hold the atom together, but only love has the power to transform persons…Love invites surrender, and surrender is at the core of spirituality.” David G. Benner
1 Corinthians14: 1 (MSG) Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it—because it does. Give yourselves to the gifts God gives you. Most of all, try to proclaim his truth.
Our Faith in the finished works of Christ becomes strong as we gain revelation
knowledge into what Christ has accomplished for us. What Christ did for us
constitute the Gospel message or the message of the Kingdom.
Matthew 13:19, 23. (GNT)Those who hear the message about the Kingdom but
do not understand it are like the seeds that fell along the path. The Evil One
comes and snatches away what was sown in them. 23 And the seeds sown in the
good soil stand for those who hear the message and understand it: they bear
fruit, some as much as one hundred, others sixty, and others thirty.”
To understand something means to have a clear or complete idea of it. It can
also mean to know the meaning, reason, or significance of something.
Romans 1:16-17 (KJV)16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is
the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first,
What would you say is the most powerful force that can make all the difference in the world, or in your world today?
Hebrews 11:1-3 (KJV) 11. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The whole of Hebrews 11 tells us a lot about faith, what it is and what it does; gives us examples about the Saints of old and how Faith changed their lives and stories, and it reveals some things to us about the Father as well. My focus today is to look into why Faith matters, why Faith is so important to you and me, today.
Luke 2:9-11 (KJV) 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
With the birth of our Lord Jesus is the plan of God to bring restoration of the Glory upon, within and through men and women.
Understanding your Identity in Christ (A new creation, with a God kind of life, eternal life, not just the length but the quality of the life) 2 Cor 5:17,
Romans 5: 21; John 10:10.
2 Corinthians 5: 17–21 (KJV) 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Romans 5:21 (GNT) 21 So then, just as sin ruled by means of death, so also God’s grace rules by means of righteousness, leading us to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
