In a world filled with uncertainty, stress, and ever-changing circumstances, one question remains constant for believers: Do you truly have faith in God? Not just faith in what He can do, but unwavering trust in who He is. Jesus didn’t say “have faith in yourself” or “have faith in people.” In Mark 11:22, He said, “Have faith in God.” Not sometimes. Not when it’s convenient. Constantly.
But what does that look like practically? Let’s dive into what the Bible calls Real Bible Faith (RBF)—a faith that stands firm, speaks boldly, and rests fully on the integrity and love of God.
Real Bible Faith isn’t wishful thinking or religious routine. It’s a spiritual revelation and conviction rooted in the nature of God—His love, power, faithfulness, and integrity.
As Romans 10:11 (AMPC) puts it, “No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will ever be put to shame or disappointed.” If disappointment has become the soundtrack of your faith journey, it’s time to check what you’re really believing.
Jesus said it clearly: Have faith in God. People, including family and friends—even fellow believers—can let us down. But God? He is faithful, unchanging, and incapable of failure.
In 2 Timothy 1:12, Paul declared, “I know in whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able…” When life throws fiery trials at you—a bad medical report, financial stress, relationship breakdowns—your declaration must be, “I know my God is able.”
Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, let your faith speak: “The God we serve will deliver us!”
Here’s how you can identify if you’re walking in real Bible faith:
Real faith replaces panic with peace. When you’re rooted in God’s promises, even the fiercest storm can’t shake you. Faith speaks like Paul: “I know in whom I have believed.”
Faith isn’t passive—it’s powerful. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “…he will have whatever he says.” What you say matters. If you’re constantly talking about your problems and not God’s promises, you’re not walking in faith.
Faith is not a feeling—it’s grounded in the unchangeable Word of God. Luke 1:37 (AMPC) says, “No word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” That’s the foundation of real faith.
You don’t need to beg God for more faith. You need to grow it through intentional steps:
Real faith begins with salvation. Romans 10:10-11 reminds us that with the heart we believe and with the mouth we confess. That’s the foundation.
Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of Christ. Lack of knowledge creates unbelief—and unbelief is the thief of all God has for you. Jesus couldn’t perform many miracles in His hometown because of their unbelief (Mark 6:5-6).
Faith without works is dead. Matthew 14:28-31 teaches us that Peter walked on water as long as he obeyed Jesus’s Word. When he doubted, he sank. Real Bible faith acts—even when it doesn’t make sense.
Jesus taught us in Mark 11:23 that what you say shapes what you receive. What have you been saying? Fear, frustration, or faith? Speak life.
Faith gives glory to God even before the promise manifests. Abraham, though his body was old and Sarah’s womb barren, “was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:20). Thanksgiving is a mark of true faith.
Two friends watched a heavy downpour from their window. One was worried it would flood the earth again. The other said, “Didn’t God promise with a rainbow that He’d never do that again?” The fear disappeared. That’s the power of remembering God’s Word over reacting to what we see.
Faith isn’t about being in denial of your challenges—it’s about refusing to let your circumstances define your belief. Real Bible Faith knows God cannot fail. It declares the Word, acts on the Word, and rests in His faithfulness.
“I have more faith in God’s inability to fail than in my ability to succeed.”
So, take a moment today. Reflect. What are you truly believing? What are you saying?
