Our Status In Christ or the Portrait of Our Salvation

It’s imperative for us to have a good picture of what Christ has done for us so we don’t let any devil make us think otherwise and continue to take advantage of us.

Rom 3:21-26

Romans 3:21-26 King James Version (KJV)

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

24 Being Justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

Romans 8:14-15 King James Version (KJV)

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

There is a way to be right with God outside of our good works. The way that does not include self effort has been manifested and witnessed by the Law and prophets.

The righteousness of God is not earned, you cannot work hard enough, do good enough for it. It is a gift to be received through faith.

Let us look at the portrait of our salvation in four categories so we get a picture of not only what Christ has done for us but who we are in Him.

COURT, COMMERCE, CURRENCY AND COMMUNION

  1. COURT

Vs 24 Being Justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

The word Justified is a courtroom type word. In this context, if you believe in Christ you are declared not guilty, justified through what Christ has done. Justification now puts us in a place where God treats us as though we have never sinned.

Strong’s Concordance defines Justify as: to justify, vindicate, declare righteous, to put someone in a proper relationship with another, usually referring to Gods relationship to humankind.

2 Cor 5:21

Romans 8:1

One major way the enemy robs us is to make us feel unworthy of the good things God has freely provided, because we have a sense of Guilt. So, we don’t go after them by faith trusting God and possessing them. Who are you going to believe? God’s word about you or your feelings…?

  1. COMMERCE OR TRADE

Vs 24 Being Justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Redemption is a trade term that denotes exchange of goods and or services. It means a full price was paid for…, to be free, free from slavery, bondage and all oppressions.

Strong’s Concordance defines redemption as: Ransom, Release

Jesus redeemed us from the nature of sin, and every bondage as a result.

If you find yourself dealing with any kind of bondage or you are just burdened down, if you are a child of God know that Jesus already paid for your deliverance. Receive it today!

  1. CURRENCY

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

Eph 2:14

Strong’s definition for propitiation: atoning sacrifice, a place where sins are forgiven, mercy seat.

Propitiation: speaks of appeasement of wrath that goes with all the ungodliness of man’s as a result of the fall until Christ. In Christ the divine justice of God was satisfied as far as we are concerned, and God is not mad at people as some erroneously still think.

If you think God is mad or angry at you, you cannot approach Him with confidence. The enemy will as a result keep you away from experiencing Gods best.

  1. COMMUNION

Romans 8:14-15 King James Version (KJV)

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

These verses speak of adoption. We are “sons” everyone both male and female. Sons just means we are now joint heir with Christ, we are in position for an inheritance. And he had given it to us in Christ. They include all that we need to live our best lives here on earth and afterwards eternity with Jesus.

Also, we have a new attitude (spirit) whereby we cry Abba Father. God is our father. We are adopted. NOW!

Confess who you are in Christ

To yourself, everyone who care to hear, the devil, and your situation.

  1. I am the righteousness of God in Christ (2Cor 5:21)

  2. There is therefore no condemnation to me because I am in Christ (Rom 8:1)

  3. In Him I have been redeemed through His blood, from sin, shame and any kind bondage (Ephesians 1:7)

  4. I am a Child of God (Rom 8:14-15)

  5. Bless the Lord always (Ps. 103:1-5)
